Contentment

I was very fortunate to be raised by parents that really worked hard so that there's always food at the table, a roof above our heads and clothes to wear. I don't remember a time that we had to beg for bread cause my parents were blessed with jobs to help support the family. When we prepared for last Sunday's Kidstuf we had the opportunity to meet with the street kids in Plaza Independencia. It was during those moments that I realized that it's not that you have decent clothes or mcdonald's burger in hand but you have a family that's behind you that care for you. I saw smiles on faces that were either smeared with mud or what have you. Some of them were just glad that they were able to drink juice, eat a sandwich and have more than one candy in their pockets. It's times like these that you learn to be thankful with what you have and learn to appreciate things that you tend to take for granted.
